Details On How To Hold A Violin

By Aimee Schwartz

Always put in your mind that you will be playing an extraordinary instrument in here. So, you really have to put more effort in learning it. If you will perform that, then you will not be putting your posture on the line and you will be happy with your newly acquired skill at the same time and that is great.

The first thing that you would have to be concerned about is the position of your thumb. The road on how to hold a violin starts with that. The thumb would have to be an inch away from the nut. If you have to place mark on the instrument since you are just starting out, then so be it.

Second, you would need to make sure that all of your fingers are in line with one another. It does not matter if you have to shift from one note to another. What is important in here is that you would get used to the spaces among all of your fingers so that you would not have any problem completing a piece.

Third, you have to maintain a straight line with your wrist. If you just learned to play the violin a few weeks ago, then this is not likely to happen right away. So, spend time practicing your posture before playing the instrument. In that way, you can expect the rest of the equation to fall right into place.

If your arm is not where it is supposed to be like in the back of your music tool, then you just have to accept the fact that you have committed a mistake in here and you ought to change it. If you will not do that, then you will continue to be distracted by the arm and that is not good for the quality of your piece.

You would have to grow independently from the stand as much as possible. If you would do that, then you would not be compromising the position of your body. You would not have a stiff neck to attend to at the end of the day. Plus, you would be able to play at your best the next day.

As for the scroll, the indicator of the right height will be your nose level. Thus, you just have to make sure that you have not lowered it down because you are already tired of what you are doing. Your laziness will only bring you to a physical state that you will regret.

You would have to look at the strings only when you are in doubt. If you have been practicing all this time, then you would have to be confident and look at your audience instead. If that is too much for you, then you can close your eyes and feel the music instead.

Overall, you just have to be the best that you can be. If you have to take additional lessons, then so be it. In that way, you can be sure that you have covered everything and that you would be proud of your task out there.
