Some Light On Scandinavian Prog Rock

Over the years, this type of music has received massive support and love from fans in all parts of the world. It originated way back in the late sixties, thanks to Beatles Sergeant Pepper and also Pink Floyd. Bands like Genesis and Yes consequently sprang up, and ever since, there has been an upsurge in the number of bands making covers and also producing new metal music. These groups have largely facilitated the growth and popularity of the Scandinavian prog Rock genre.

Many groups emanated with the intention of winning popularity amongst the fans, and were mainly from Sweden before others emerged from other parts of the globe. The Beard Fish group, is a relevant example. It is from Sweden, and can be comparable to the renowned Genesis band, though it incorporates some modern taste in its music. Formed in the early twenties, the band has since been able to amass several different musicians.

Another band is the Flower Kings, also from Sweden. This was formed in nineteen ninety four, by the legendary guitarist, Roine Stolt. The band has since released eleven albums since its formation, and its music is flavored with variety, ranging from blues, experimental music, to also jazz. The band makes use of dynamic changes, lengthy compositions, and heavy bass and also abstract lyrics.

Norway also has notable bands in the industry, for example the Magic Pie group. This band encompasses using traditional sounds and flavoring them with modern sounds, to produce a unique sense of style and diversity. It uses vocal arrangement drums, string melodies, heavy bass, strong melodies and catchy guitar riffs, among other features. The group produces music that is both gentle and heavy, and has produced a commendable number of albums since when it was formed.

Another celebrated band is the Finnish back, Apocalyptic. This was formed in Helsinki, back in the early nineties. It is quite unique in its fashion of making their music, considering the band does not use the usual bass, keyboards, drums and guitar, but instead have three cello players and also a drummer. The band also prides itself in having three proficient cellists, and it produces unique forms of progressive heavy metal music. Its history dates back in the day, when it made covers on Metallica before it started producing its own music.

The Finnish Back group is another rock music band worth checking out for. It was formed in Helsinki, in the nineties. Also having some unique aspects in their productions, the group uses three cello players and one drummer, unlike the usual use of guitars, drums, keyboards and heavy bass. They are able to produce heavy metal, thanks to their classily experienced cellists and drummers. The group started by making covers on Metallica, which saw its growth and it began making its own productions.

Sweden also has another well-established band in the metal music genre, called the Moon Safari. This group has symphonic instrumental sounds which incorporate complex vocal harmonies, which are an integral component of their sounds.

The Moon Safari Band from Sweden is another notable band. It has symphonic sounds that encompass sophisticated vocal harmonies. They are majorly good at acapellas, and their songs can last up to ten minutes, considering they make experiments with unusual time spans. The group has not only won several local awards, but also international ones. These are the most significant bands to check out for, with respect to Scandinavian progressive rock music.
