New Americana Album Reviews By Stephen Colbert Among Others

Good music has a magical way of transforming a dull moment into something brighter. Writing a captivating song takes a lot of effort and time. Artists like Halsey are naturally gifted with this skill. The lyrics come almost effortlessly to such folks. The composer is supposed to play with the words in an artistic manner to bring out a resounding narrative. The best-selling New Americana album reviews suggest that their latest works are headed for great success.

The full name of this artist is Ashely Nicolette Frangipane. She coined her stage name Halsey from her first official name, Ashley. The singer-songwriter is in her early twenties, and she began her career as a little child. Her debut album debuted two years ago, and it went by the name Badlands. She records with the company known as Astralwerks.

She was born and raised in a town in New Jersey. Her music first hit the waves in her small town known as Clark. She is a child of parents who come from a mixed heritage and background. Her blood contains a little bit of the following races and ethnic diversities: Italian, Hungarian, African-American blood. That broad diversity has undoubtedly played an integral role in shaping and defining her music.

The gifted artist is not only a singer but also a performer. The parents recognized her interest in music a long time ago. To that effect, they enrolled her in music school. Here, she was taught how to play various musical instruments, for instance, the cello, acoustic guitars and even the viola. In the mid-two thousands, she got a diagnosis of being bipolar.

Her break to the mainstream came about as a direct result of her deliberate efforts. She used to love listening to Taylor Swift among other famous singers of our time. She recorded herself singing and playing the cover songs of this successful and already established artists. One of the songs that made the day for her was the popular breakup song by Taylor Swift known as I knew You Were Trouble.

Currently, the resume of Ashley is one of the most impressive for an upcoming artist. To-date, she has done work with recording artists and bands which are award-winning and amazing. The groups she has worked with include Imagine Dragons, Raising Sons and even with The Kooks. She is often the curtain-raiser on various auspicious musical festivals across the country. Some time back, Hasley got an invitation to perform at the famed South by Southwest music festival.

Late last year she debuted her album, Badlands. The album got a warm reception in the music scene. According to her, the album can best be described as an angry female record. In efforts to promote her album, the songwriter has gone on interviews on many shows. The best example of which has to be on the Stephen Colbert Late Show and the Last Call with Carson Daly.

On numerous occasions, she has reiterated the fact that her music is a blend of the influences she got from her parents. On one side, the tracks have a tinge of hip hop from the likes of Two Pac Shakur and Notorious B. I. G, and they also have an element of Alanis Morissette and Nirvana from the influence she gets from her mother. She is a huge fan of Kanye West.
