Learning About The Relevance Of Sports In High School

By David Moore

Pause for a moment and think about the time when you still are studying in high school. How was your experience? Did you have a good time with your friends and other persons? Did your grades go well? Have you met your first crush that time? Looking back at it brings you some memories you once have forgotten. Indeed, high school life was filled with fun. Despite that your brain was not yet accurate for decision making and you keep making mistakes, you certainly have learned from your experience. Nevertheless, one of the highlights in those times is sport festival and your school had probably hired some New Jersey high school sports videographer.

Did it cross to your mind that you would just build some schools and rule it? Maybe not. And right now, you probably are thinking about it. But in reality, building your own school is not the same as constructing your house. Meaning, it is not the same as it takes a lot of process. But if that is your passion, then you might certainly achieve it.

Anyhow, several teachers also have it as their ambition. If you are also an educator, it surely is normal to dream about it. Besides, the goal of an educator is to educate his or her students to become better in life. They will not do spoon-feeding but scaffold them until they become independent and can achieve things on their own proficiently. Even so, school is not just about making students focus more on academic areas.

It also has extra-curricular activities so students can find their other skills. That is why sometimes there are certain months wherein certain clubs launched some activities so other students can participate. For example, English club will have activities like story-telling, essay-writing and others for the month of November. Aside from that, let us not forget about sports as well.

For sure you have seen your school Intramurals. Many of your classmates have participated in different sports like football, basketball, etc. Aside from that, most schools also have sports club as well so those athletic ones can join. Furthermore, it also has purpose why a mere sport is so important for students to participate.

First and for most, it improves their motor skills and promotes physical fitness. PE teachers would usually encourage students to do exercise regularly. When students participate in a sport game, it will certainly help them and make them even more active. In fact, many studies conclude that student athletes most likely do not participate into some dangerous behavior such as using some substance.

Secondly, it also improves social relationships. Having some clubs like baseball club and other sport-related clubs will surely help in increasing social skills. Students will tend to interact with others because they are members in the same club. Furthermore, they might find some new friends because of these activities.

Third is improving the mentality. Sport also teaches a student to cooperate with others. As a result, he will learn the value of teamwork. It teaches as well about sportsmanship which really can be applied as they became an adult. When they lose something, instead of crying, they will try again until they become successful.

No wonder why schools have this. It is never pointless at all. Not only improves the athletics of students, they also will gain some good values out of it.
