Getting A Drake Type Beat

By Roger Kelly

Making music is a hard piece of work. Aside from the studio, equipment, and some such practicalities, one also needs the talent and enterprise to make it through. Needless to say, all these taken together can be pretty much draining. Thats why youll do just as well with a drake type beat.

What is a type beat, in the first place. Well, theyre instrumentals that are also alternatively called rap beats. In some cases, the rhythm has been extracted from a previously published song. However, theyre legally copyrighted, and thats why theyre openly acknowledged to correspond to a particular artist. A lot of genres suit its use well, but most especially rap and hip hop.

Composing songs is sure a bumpy ride. Sure, you can do everything with just a blank sheet of paper and a guitar. However, when were talking about the music industry in general, just both of these will not suffice. Even in those songs which sound seemingly basic, all need the nifty facility that is the studio. Youd also need basic equipment and implements.

You can go by a particular studio size that will cater to your needs both in the present and future, or else you may gradually progress. Some make do with whats called the bedroom studio. This is the absolute minimum where the recording enterprise is concerned. It might just consist of a desktop with a computer and other bare necessities. Youll be surprised by how much you can do on a limited setup.

Of course, one can be quite versatile to the point where he may be very well able to cater to more than ten artists without the least dilution on quality. Whatever the case, this is something that is borne out of drills and practices. One may well arrive at that point, but quality and focus are always more important than quantity or extensiveness.

The great thing with type beats is that they provide a foundation, but youre free to add on to that to your hearts content. Experiment with basslines to go under your main melody. Play with variations so that things dont get monotonous. Although there will be noticeable patterns, you can at least spike up or tone down the accents in the different parts, like the verses, chorus, bridge, et cetera.

Anyway, when youre trying so hard with the variations, you might end up proffering a messy output. Therefore, keep in mind to arrange the patterns accordingly. Know when to put the hooks and verses. You might also want to delve into the technicalities. For example, see about the copyrights and licenses. The latter, most especially, can vary with your purpose.

For example, for the basic forms of synthesizers, you have the hip hop drum kit and sample packs. Although versatile all on their own, they can also be pretty limited, especially where the genre is concerned. However, if you decide on what you want first and then pick up a type beat based on that, you stand to solve a lot of worries. Therefore, these instrumentals are of great value, indeed.

Their lucrative nature as business models can already be explained just with their demand. It has also perks, in that they bring lesser known producers out on the mainstream. In this day and age, the connecting channels between the composer and consumer are likewise narrower than ever. A lot of type beats are up for the taking, and its yet another case to find a good quality one thats reasonably priced.
