How To Make The Best Of Your Pre-Wedding Photography Session

By Shiela Santos

Couples still need to pose in front of the camera for their pre-wedding photography shoot before they exchange I Do's in front of their loved ones. Pre-wedding photographs tell their love story to their family and friends, recounting the chapters of their lives with each other that head to the big day. Not all soon-to-be-married couples undergo a pre-wedding photography shoot, but, as those who have had it can testify, it is highly recommended that they do so.

Frequently called the engagement photo shoot, the pre-nuptial shoot preps the bride and groom for their nuptial day by assisting them feel at ease before the camera and the photographer. It creates photos that are normally shown in an AVP presentation or shown in a slideshow at the wedding. They can also be featured on the couple's invitation or the thank-you cards that are given to the guests after the event.

Each photographer has their own style in producing memorable shots from the pre-nuptial shoot, but to make the event really personal, it is highly recommended that the couples convey how they wish the final outcome to appear like on photographs.

Pick a theme and scene that you believe best mirror what you two feel for each other. There are no set rules on where you should hold your pre-wedding photography shoot either. It can be held inside the photographer's studio or outside on a private beach or an entertainment park. Everywhere, as long as you have permission from the authorities to hold a photo shoot, is okay.

Also, you and your partner should be comfortable and safe wherever you hold the photo session. There are couples who feel uncomfortable and uneasy during the shoot because they picked a really public place to hold it. There are also times when the venue they selected discouraged the bringing of camera equipment.

A gorgeous venue helps make the picture complete on your pre-wedding photography shoot, but it is just a background. You can hold the shoot even without it. What counts is that you and your partner are comfortable with each other before the camera. The love you feel for each other is what makes the photos worthwhile to look at and to value for life because it is what is mirrored on the pictures.

The wedding is not the happy ever after the bride and groom get after a long courtship. Rather, it is the beginning of the new chapter of their lives together. Pre-wedding photography commemorates your love story in pictures even before you commence your lives together as a wedded couple.
