When it comes to heavy metal, there are a lot of well known classics as well as a few newcomers. In addition, as with rock and roll there are a lot of cover and tribute bands. When it comes to the Iron Maidens from Los Angeles, California, the group is an all female tribute band to the original rockers known as Iron Maiden.
While the band has gone through a number of different musicians, the current line-up is said to be an amazing set of artists. With two lead guitarists, a bassist, a vocalist and a drummer, it is a cast of women musicians whom have gained a lot of love and respect in the heavy metal community. As such, even with the changes in players over the years, the group has continued to move on toward a vibrant and successful career.
In 2003 the group started working on a self titled album called The Only All Female Iron Maiden Tribute Band. While getting off to a good start, due to changes in line-up and personal issues, the album did not reach completion and release until 2005 with Aja Kim replacing Jenny Warren on vocals.
In 2007, the band released another album titled Route 66. One of the most interesting things about the release is that there is a guest appearance by guitarist Phil Campbell of Motorhead. As such, the sales were somewhat better than the previous album but still not as good as the band had hoped.
After another round of changes in 2008, the band went to Japan and filmed a DVD called Metal Gathering Live in Japan 2010. After the success of the DVD, longtime guest guitarist Nikki Stringfield was added as a regular member to the band. While the DVD had a great deal of success among Japanese artists, sales could have been better in other areas.
The question still remains as to whether the group will tour domestically or internationally again in the future. While this is the case, the group does have a few shows scheduled in the United States beginning in February. Whereas, Rosenberg and Stringfield recently appeared on the music game show Beat Shazam in August of 2017.
Even through all the line-up changes, the band has remained a strong presence in the Heavy Metal community. Along with other tribute acts such as Lez Zeppelin and those related to Pink Floyd, there is no doubt the group will continue to have a strong following now and in the future. While this is the case, as the band has often seen line-up changes after each album and most recently, the Japan tour. As such, it would be beneficial if the current line-up were to remain in tact for the long haul.
For more information on this all female tribute band, fans can check out videos on YouTube and similar sites. Whereas, there are also photos, a few videos and a great deal of information including show dates, times and locations on the Facebook page dedicated to the band. Whether watching a video, communicating with other fans or attending a live show, fans will no doubt enjoy the nostalgia associated with these bands playing tribute to some of the biggest names in music.
