Ever Since Hip Hop Has Bee Around We Have Seen Many New York Rappers Take The Stage. New York City Seems To Be An Enormous Home

By Nick Durso

One thing that is important for New York rappers and any other artist is longevity. Some rappers come and go and we never hear from them again. Some rappers we hear from in their music, then disappear and re appear somewhere else. This is important and only few rappers understand the business side of hip-hop. What I mean by re appear, is that they are a new owner of a sports team, or company etc.

One important thing artists must realize in order to stick around in the music industry is to get involved. Only very few rappers understand this concept. Some rappers just make a hit song then disappear forever. The ones who are the true entrepreneurs are the ones who re invest their money into businesses and grow and exceed to their maximum capacity.

Someone like 50 Cent understands the business side of hip hop. He took his talents from the streets of New York, and turned them into profitable businesses. Now Fifty owns companies, record labels, and is a movie star. He is the definition of Get Rich or Die Tryin.

Another awesome rapper from the state of New York is extremely popular. Jay-Z is a New York rap legend. All New York music lovers will always remember him. Similar to 50 Cent, Jay-Z too owns businesses, and record labels. He is one of the most financially successful hip-hop artists and entrepreneurs in America. He is the former owner of Def Jam Records, as well as other numerous well-known businesses.

There are so many well-known hip-hop artists that come from New York City. The two mentioned above are some of the most well known people in the world. One thing that makes them so successful is that they use their money to make the money. This is key. In order to set everything up correctly, you must create a foundation then build from there. These two individuals have done just that.

Any upcoming artist out there should sit down, and write down short-term goals and long-term goals. If you don't mimic both Jay-Z and 50 Cent in some type of fashion, then you will just be another one hit wonder. There is way more to building your brand, story, and life as a hip hop artist then just music.
