They may choose to do this as a hobby or a full-time job. Some make a decent living off of performing in this way, especially if they choose a popular group like the Eagles. Performing in this type of band may be a good experience for up-and-coming or beginning musicians who want to become more comfortable on stage or sharpen their singing or playing skills.
