Six Well-Known Male Opera Singers

If you check those playlists that teenagers have nowadays, for sure you would see pop, rock or hip-hop genres dominating on their playlists. From talented musicians like Bruno Mars to Taylor Swift, every human beings definitely are familiar with their songs. As a result, some cannot turn their eyes to classical genres since that is not the mainstream at the moment. Regardless with that, people must not ignore those classical musicians whether from ancient times or modern and at least, they must acknowledge these male classical opera singers.

Placido Domingo. Placido is really notable and a Spanish singer with spinto voice that moved into dramatic tenor. He won several awards included Grammy as well as Latin Grammy. Aside from that, he is also an arts administrator and a conductor. Placido is noted for his best performance in Hoffman, Canio, Cavaradossi and Don Jose. In addition, he is also part of The Three Tenors with Luciano Pavarotti and also Jose Carreras. Their collaboration had become successful and famous.

Dmitri Hvorostovsky. Dmitri was a world-renowned Russian artist with a timber of baritone and gain his international fame in year 1989 as he won a world competition. He also became part of the list of fifty most beautiful people in Peoples magazine for his striking aura and beautiful silver hair. One of his best performances is Eugene Onegin in which he collaborated with Renee Fleming. Unfortunately, in November 22, 2017, he died after battling his brain tumour.

Jose Carreras. Jose, a Spanish artist with a beautiful tenor voice, is noted for his performances from Puccini and Verdi. At the age of eleven, he started his operatic stage career then performed more than sixty roles and became famous particularly when he joined The Three Tenors alongside with Luciano Pavarotti and Placido Domingo. He had gained many awards from his career as well as humanitarian works.

Luciano Pavorotti. Another singer from Three Tenors and one of the timelessly most successful tenors in this genre. He was also called as King of High Cs and performed many collaborations with different famous artists outside from this genre. Furthermore, he contributed also in making operas expanded worldwide. But unfortunately, he did not live long because of his pancreatic disease though his fame and contributions still carry on.

Andrea Bocelli. If everyone knows Celine Dion, perhaps everyone also knows the existence of this man. Not only he gain fame from his song duet with Celine Dion in The Prayer but also his voice had received acclaims from many artists. He is into classical crossover and turned into a biggest-selling singer throughout the history.

Lawrence Brownlee. A young American singer who is now also making his name in this field. Lawrence had received acclaims with his tenor voice and acts as well as his activities with Met. He had also worked with Renee Fleming Armida and Elina Garanca in La Centerola.

Philippe Jaroussky. So have you heard a male with mezzo soprano voice? Probably not, but Philippe is an example of that. You might cringe at hearing boys doing some high notes but this guy has perfect technique, making him sound beautiful. He has been doing many operas which proves the versatility of his voice.

Who says only females can hit high notes? Males can also do that. With these fellows, the opera genre still remains.
