Look into the Research and Returns of the Sony DSC-W120

By Shanel Beckwith

There are a number of Sony digital cameras. The Sony DSC-W120 comes with 7.2 megapixel TFT LCD display that is 2.5"in size. It also features the Carl Zeiss 4x Optical Zoom lens, HD output, Face Detection, Smile Shutter and Super SteadyShot . When you have this many megapixels you are afforded extra definition as well as more details when create large prints and take close up pictures. The Hole Accumulated Diode permits more light to go to all the pixels which decreases the noise and amplifies the sensitivity.

When you are talking about pocket cameras, they tend to be placed into 2 different categories. There is the category for the trendier and therefore more costly compacts, and then the cheaper, less elaborate versions are placed into a second category. One could say that the Sony DSC-W120 would be in the second category rather than in the first due to its cost as well as its features. However, albeit it falls into that category that does not make it a bad camera to buy since it is quite reliable as well as affordable. It also comes with a number of great features, one of its best features being its viewfinder, which is not usually proffered with these smaller compacts.

It is relatively good at taking outdoor pictures even with the lens at medium zoom. It has above average sharpness and it doesn't tend towards losing focus as a number of cameras that fall in its category seem to do. It also remains true to the colors that are captured; keeping the colors just as they appear in the subjects that are being photographed.

The camera's high resolution mode adds to the usual two megapixels. Its aspect ratio of 16:9 works well with the ratio shooting mode for a HDTV3 display, and you can now shoot them in five megapixels. This makes the obtaining of great high definition prints achievable. There is also a picture motion browser software feature that comes with this Sony digital camera. This software renders it much easier to search for, upload, as well as organize pictures on the computer. If you have a GPS unit to go along with your camera while shooting, this software proffers you a map view function which helps you to go through pictures and place them into their different locales and you will see where they originated from on the map of the world.

As it relates to taking portraits, the Sony DSC-W120 is okay at taking these outdoors. When you take portrait indoors using the flash, you get great results. It is very sharp and the colors are real; they look the same as subject/s you are capturing. This is great news, as many indoor portraits taken by some other digital camera tended towards a washed out look when taken with the flash of the camera on. Taking an indoor portrait with no flash with a Sony DSC-W120 also produces good results. The image has a lot of details and is quite sharp, with great colors as well.
