Boston Architectural Photography: Artists And Architects

By Shawna Fletcher

Creating breath-taking pictures through photographs are thought of as art. In the modern times, every affair has picture taking sessions to preserve memories of these events and because we have easy access on portable cameras and built in cameras picture taking is made much easier for us. Taking pictures becomes a hobby of most people. They simply would capture almost anything and upload these pictures in social networking sites. Others take pictures to earn money. There are also people who share interests and formed groups like the Boston Architectural Photography. This is great for people who are looking to learn different techniques for better shots.

Boston Architectural Photography is a collective of architectural photographers in the Greater Boston area. These photographers are independent but they come together and put up their own website where they show people their collections of photos.

History shows that even in early times during the years of Euclid and Aristotle photography was already known by men. Through the years many advances in the process and materials photography had been developed.

There are different styles of taking pictures that added a life to pictures these are black and white, color, and full spectrum, ultraviolet and infrared and lastly digital.

The modes of productions are amateur, commercial, art, science and forensic. An amateur photographer is the one who practices photography as a hobby and not for profit. On the other hand commercial photographers are paid for the images they have taken rather than works of arts.

Many other sciences rely on it for the compilation of pertinent data and evidences and preserving those, just like in engineering and forensic. Pictures are taken to gather information needed to carry on with the process of engineering works and in forensics to solve the crimes. Many discussions about it had been talked about and points of views were raised especially in the field of arts. Some artist claimed that it is mechanically capturing of images and that would not qualify as art.

Aside from cameras, there are other things used to capture images like xerography, photogram and scanners. And because of the modern technologies a lot more will surely be discovered changing the process of taking the pictures. In contrary to what has been argued about it as an art, the Boston Architectural Photography had shown that theirs is really a work of art by combining architecture and photography.
