Music Video Submission Helps You Get Discovered

By Timothy Davis

Watching a visual medium for presenting a certain idea can have a great affect on a viewer. The viewer will be vulnerable in the sense that will have a hard time not believing what is being presented. Music video submission can be simple in the sense that you can focus on the material you are showing and not the actual act of submitting. Try to focus on what you are showing and not how you are showing it.

Promoting people who are trying to get noticed is not hard and can be very rewarding. A phone number or email address on your website can help people get in contact with you should they have any questions about submission. Leave clear instructions on your website, but also be available for help. Staff that answers the phone or emails can be a great help.

Jpeg files are usually for still photos that are used in a video. Mov files are the music or visuals. Be clear what formats you receive and do not receive. Some may not compatible with the system that you are using, but try to have programs that are mainstream enough so that anyone who submits in any format can be used by your organization.

Asking a professional to help may be a good idea. You may get overwhelmed with people wanting to submit and if you are not a technology expert, some of their questions may not be something you will know the answer to. Hire someone if you can afford it to help out with this need.

You may need to decide what you will do if you decide to help someone to get promoted. Your expertise will need to come into play here so you can help someone break into the video industry. It takes quite a bit of stamina and persistence to break into any creative industry. Teach that to people whom you help. It will really help them.

Brainstorm with other professionals can be a good way to think of some ways to break people in that you have not already thought of. You cannot do everything so reaching out for help is wise. They may know of other areas to send people's work that you have not already thought of. Ask them for their thoughts as you figure out what your plan is.

Hire someone to man your front desk so if and when people call asking questions about how to submit work, someone is there for them. Inform people that they should have contact information listed somewhere on their materials for the receptionist to get a hold of. Notify the receptionist of your selections and he or she can contact the person.

Hopefully you find your work to be satisfying. Working with others who have talent is rewarding, but you are working in a very competitive industry. It could become stressful. Enjoy the beauty of those small moments where you see the unique talent of someone who just submitted an excellent video and that just made your day.
