Families Under The Lens

Blood is thicker than water, that is what people constantly say, but what exactly do these words suggest? It is a well-known fact that the phase refers to family, and the ties that should supposedly be much stronger than the associations that we could ever build with other people.

Then again, people who have various experiences on relationships can attest to the fact that this assertion is not always accurate, for we also develop genuine and solid relationships with people who are not linked to us by blood. An easy example would be your closest friends or your special someone, these are people who are on the same wavelength as us, people who understand us and who are there when we need a shoulder to lean on, people who treat us like "family".

With all these contradicting notions, what does "being family" really stand for? The answer is quite simple, family is where you feel most at home, surrounded by the people who love you without reservations, whether you are blood related or not.
