Many Famous Italian Singers Around The World

By Gloria Mason

There are so many famous Italian singers to be found on this very large planet. People everywhere love to listen to the music that these artists will record for entertainment purposes. Everyone knows that Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Luciano Pavarotti, Tony Bennett, Perry Como, Vic Damone and Frankie Laine were all great in their time.

The United States lost a true legend when Frank Sinatra passed away. "Ol Blue Eyes" was a great singer and entertainment leader to many people in Hollywood. Frank had a roving eye for the ladies and found himself walking down the wedding aisle several times. He really enjoyed the company of movie stars and this is the main reason that all of his wives were in the entertainment field.

Another very popular man was Mr. Dean Martin who was also an actor during most of his career. He would team up with the great Jerry Lewis to film several movies each year during the 1950's and all of these collaborations were very successful at the box office. Dean was also a great "ladies man" who loved to date many of the beautiful women who lived in California and New York.

Tony Bennett has a voice that is truly magic and this is the main reason that all of his concerts sell out quickly. Mr. Bennett is a native New Yorker who was born under the name Anthony Dominick Benedetto which is very hard to remember. This is the reason that he changed his name in the 50's when his career first started to take off. Younger people have become fans of his work and they will usually buy all of his recordings.

Perry Como's birth name is Perino Ronald Como which is a very unusual name in America. Perry used to cut people's hair while trying to make it as a recording artist. In the year 1943 he was able to sign a contract with one of the most popular recording studios in America. He also did work on television during his time as a live stage performer.

Jerry Vale came into this world as Gennaro Luigi Vitaliano to his very proud parents. They all lived in a part of New York known as the Bronx. He used to shine shoes for everyone taking the busy subways within this city and during this time he was discovered by his employer. He was so impressed with Jerry's voice that he sent him to music classes.

Vic Damone was once married to the very lovely Diahann Carroll and they enjoyed years of happiness together. These two would often perform duets together and everyone loved to come and view their shows which were performed in Las Vegas each year. Mr. Damone was born in Brooklyn, New York and his birth name was Vito Rocco Farinola.

Everyone loves to hear famous Italian singers whenever they attend a music event. There was an overweight tenor named Luciano Pavarotti who could dazzle any audience that he appeared before. He had always considered America to be his "home away from home" during his lifetime. Unfortunately Luciano died within the year 2007 and after this the opera world changed forever.
