Steps On How To Hold A Violin Properly

Is your equipment being held the right way? Learning how to do this is important since it prevents pressure and tension and also gives a natural comfortable feel while playing your device. There are three important areas of the body required to learn on how to hold a violin properly. They include shoulder and collarbone, chin and jaw and lastly the hand.

To begin with, the violin is placed on the shoulder partly and also partly on collarbone. The device is then held horizontally and angled towards your left side or straight forward. Let the collarbone and the left hand support the equipment gently. The strings should be parallel with the ground. Based on what you like, you can use a shoulder pad between the shoulder and the playing device. This ensures that the space between the back of your violin and shoulder is filled. It also ensures that it is firmly held to the shoulder.

After placing it on your shoulder bone, gently lower your head and rest your jaw-the left side on violins chin rest. Slightly turn your head to left and let the chin rest support most of your jaw. Then slightly turn the it towards the center. The device should be just in front of you and almost in line with your nose. There can be some deviations. For instance, when playing the lower strings you may bring it even more to the center whereas when playing the higher strings the tip of your thumb finger is away from under the neck and therefore it shifts slightly to left. The deviations should not however be extreme.

Place it on inside part of your thumb and allow the lower part on first finger to support the gadget on the other side. The thumb should point towards the back and the hand in addition to the fingers well placed over the instruments strings. The thumb is to be opposite your first or second finger. You may have to change the position of thumb but ensure it maintains flexibility and relaxation. In addition, position your thumb well so that is neither too straight nor slightly bent. There should be a space in between the thumb and the first finger.

Your elbow should be under the violin at the same time pointing slightly towards the right. The wrist is to get straight in a position that is comfortable and well aligned to your forearm. The elbow should not bend towards your neck or the scroll. The neck of the device is to rest on your left hand first finger base knuckle. Your left arm ought be under the back such that it is not visible from the right side if you look down the top of it.

To hold a bow of your instrument, tilt the wood slightly to the fingerboard. Then place the bow on string at roughly the center of the bridge and fingerboard. Finally draw the bow in a straight line while maintaining the bow parallel to bridge.

If standing while holding the musical instrument, your feet should be well apart and the left properly aligned to this device. The right is a little bit behind the left foot and also turned out. If you sit, both feet should be flat and placed in front of you. In addition, the right foot is placed slightly backwards. Remember the seat should have a strong base and also sit up.
