Selling Hip Hop Beats And Rap Instrumentals Online

By Delroy Wilkins

If you are a hip hop artist then you would likely know that coming up with the right beats and instrumentals for a song can sometimes be tricky. If you do not get the beat right, the whole song can be messed up. However, if you have been in the industry for long, you will have noticed that most of the time it is quite easy to pick out the right beat to your song because you have developed your own unique taste. However, what happens when you are at a complete loss when it comes to choosing your own beats?

There are two main ways for you to choose your own rap beats. The first method would entail you thinking about what your song will be like. Is there a concept to your song? Is there any specific topic? It would help if you looked at your song as a separate being with its own emotions. Next, try and find instrumentals that match those emotions.

If you feel like there is not any specific concept to your song (as of yet) and would like to keep the songwriting process as spontaneous as possible, the second method is just for you. The second method involves browsing through your entire collection of instrumentals, listening to them, and looking for tracks that somehow speak to you.

This may sound corny, but when you listen to the instrumentals, and you already have the song forming in your mind, then subconsciously your mind will be able to tell you which instrumental is best for your song. After you have chosen the beat, it is at this point that you would want to think about the concept of your song. It does not have to be too specific, but at least let a listener identify a general theme when listening to your music.

The power of music is in the power of inspiration; sometimes you will hear a beat and instantly everything clicks right into place. Soon after you have chosen your beat, it is then that the concept of your song will surface. And while the concept may not be specific, it is important that it gives a sense of coherence to you song so that the listeners may be able to identify the theme and relate to your music. When choosing the right beats for your upcoming song, it also helps to be acquainted on the different types of beats there is. This can be hard, as distinguishing beats is no easy feat for anyone, especially to those who are still new to the music business. To make this task easier, you can try and focus on the different instruments used to create the beats. If you want your song to have more percussion, listen to beat tracks that have more percussion. If you want your song to have more synths, there are a lot of tracks that are focused on synths. So listen and listen to a lot of different music. After all, the best way to sharpen your skills is to familiarize yourself with the different kinds of music available.
